No Embers Solution: Quick Facts
· PNS Syrup is a clear, slightly sticky liquid that can be used to both prevent and extinguish Class A (wood) fires
· PNS can be sprayed in advance of a fire and will stay active, even in intense heat and sun, for at least two weeks.
· Effective extinguishing agent for class A and B fires. We have extinguished a 50 ft2 gasoline fire in less than 30 seconds using a spray rate of 2GPM. We also present data for wood crib fires. See below for details and link to video.
· Potential uses of PNS Syrup include protecting land adjacent to prescriptive or controlled burns, creating fire breaks, extinguishing active fires and protecting homes in areas prone to fires.
· Independent testing of our product at Oregon State University showed a 96% decrease in the number of embers formed when pine trees were treated with PNS Syrup prior to a simulated forest fire. This is extremely important and useful for wildland fires as fire propagation is often caused by wind-blown embers. See below for details and link to study.
· Certified by UL for use as a component in fire extinguishers. Given a “non-toxic” rating by UL and passed class A fire wood crib testing.
· Fluorine Free and tested for environmental toxicity by an independent company certified by the EPA. 96 Hour LC50 for the flathead minnow is 534mg/L (“minimally toxic” per the EPA). See official results.
